Triangle BABC celebrates first anniversary

Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 16, 2013)The Triangle Chapter of the British-American Business Council (BABCNC), which promotes trade and investment between North Carolina and the United Kingdom, hosted its First Anniversary Celebration on Oct. 9 at North Carolina’s Executive Mansion. This event also served as a welcome reception for eight wounded military personnel from both the U.K. and the U.S. prior to their traveling to Charlotte as part of the Mission Motorsports Exchange Program.

During the evening program, Gov. Pat McCrory introduced N.C. Secretary of Revenue Lyons Gray who spoke on the attractiveness of North Carolina as a place to do business. Following that, HM Consul General Jeremy Pilmore-Bedford discussed the importance of bilateral trade and investment with the U.K.

The wounded warriors’ visit, sponsored by Mission Motorsport and the USO of North Carolina, exposed these injured service members to the exciting world of racing at the home of NASCAR.

“It was such an honor to have Governor McCrory and the Wounded Warriors attend our event,” said Steve Cain, president of BABCNC. “We also appreciate the support we have gained from local companies in the Triangle that helped make this event a success.”
